Atalanta have moved swiftly to secure one of Ghana’s most exciting teenage attacking prospects, finalising the acquisition of Yaw Asamoah Agyei from Greater Accra Division Two outfit EurAfrica FC.

The Serie A club wrapped up negotiations late to complete a year-and-a-half contract with the 18-year-old forward, which includes an option to extend the deal by a further two years. The move rewards a rapid rise for Agyei, whose impact at domestic level has turned heads over the past two seasons.

Comfortable leading the line or drifting into wide channels, Agyei arrives in Italy off the back of a prolific spell in Ghana’s lower tier. Across 37 Division Two appearances for EurAfrica FC, he has produced a remarkable 39 goal contributions, finding the net 19 times while also laying on 20 assists.

His trajectory has been upward: last season brought 10 goals and nine assists, and he has already bettered that output this term with nine goals and 11 assists in just 18 matches.

Physically, the young forward is built for the modern game. He combines height and strength with impressive coordination, enabling him to hold his own in aerial battles and duels with defenders.

On the ball, he shows composure in tight spaces, carries a clean first touch, and can unleash a fierce finish when chances fall his way. His off-ball movement and sense of timing further underline a forward who reads attacking situations well beyond his years.

Agyei’s switch also reinforces a growing pathway between EurAfrica FC and the Bergamo-based club. It is the second transfer linking the two sides in as many years, following midfielder Anthony Kenneth Mensah’s move in February 2024. Both transactions were brokered by Arthurlegacy Sports, underlining the agency’s expanding footprint in connecting emerging Ghanaian talent with European opportunities.

For Atalanta, the signing fits neatly into their long-standing model of identifying, nurturing, and elevating young players. For Agyei, it opens the door to European football at a club renowned for turning promise into performance.
