Ghanaian midfielder Yaw Yeboah has completed a transfer to Chinese Super League club Qingdao Hainiu after bringing his stint with Los Angeles FC to an end.

The 28-year-old has agreed terms with the Chinese side, marking a new chapter in his career after several seasons in Major League Soccer.

Yeboah’s switch to China signals a fresh adventure in Asia following more than ten years spent playing across Europe and North America. With a wealth of top-level experience under his belt, the Ghanaian midfielder is expected to play an important role for Qingdao Hainiu as they prepare for the upcoming campaign.

The club endured a difficult season previously, finishing 16th in the league standings, and will be hoping Yeboah’s creativity and experience can help strengthen the squad.

During his time in the United States, Yeboah built a strong reputation as a dynamic attacking midfielder. He was part of the Los Angeles FC squad that lifted the Major League Soccer title in 2023, adding a major trophy to his résumé.

Prior to joining LAFC, Yeboah impressed during his spell with Columbus Crew, where he emerged as one of the league’s standout African players thanks to his pace, technical ability, and attacking influence.

Yeboah’s professional journey began in Europe after he was recruited by Manchester City as a youngster. Although he did not make a senior appearance for the Premier League side, he gained valuable experience through spells with clubs such as Lille OSC, FC Twente, Real Oviedo, CD Numancia and Wisła Kraków.

On the international stage, the former captain of the Ghana national under-23 football team has also represented the senior Ghana national football team, earning four caps for the Black Stars.

With his move to Qingdao Hainiu now confirmed, Yeboah will be aiming to bring his experience and attacking quality to the Chinese Super League as he embarks on the next phase of his professional career.
