After one season in his second stint, Ugandan international and striker Sadat Anaku has exited 13-time Uganda Premier League outfit KCCA FC following the expiry of his contract, and now faces an unresolved future, Footy-Africa can exclusively confirm.

Despite talks for a renewal, Anaku and KCCA agreed to part ways after failing to reach a leveled ground on the sign-on bonuses and monthly salary. He had rejoined the club in September last year from Scottish Premier League outfit Dundee United.

An exclusive source at Prosper Sports Agency, who represent the 24-year-old, has disclosed to Footy-Africa that there has yet to be a decision made on his future. The source further asserted that the talks with KCCA broke down due to a mismatch in the offer from the latter, vis-a-vis what the player demanded.

“At this point, we don’t know where he (Anaku) will play next season, but we’re working to get him a befitting project. His time at KCCA is done, and that chapter is now closed. KCCA was offering way less, as compared to the expectations and the talks were cut short. The plan is to get him a long-term project in Europe that assures a bit of stability, but we don’t have any offers now,” the source exclusively revealed to Footy-Africa.

At KCCA last season, Anaku played 16 matches locally, scoring six goals with three assists. At Dundee United in 2023/24, he featured 14 times and added 17 games with the reserve team. In his first spell at KCCA, having come through from the academy, he played 57 games, scoring 18 goals with 11 assists.

At the national senior team, The Cranes, Anaku has so far made four competitive appearances with one goal. Previously, he featured for Uganda at the U-17 and U-20 youth level teams.
