English Championship sides Watford FC and Charlton Athletic remain interested in signing English-born Gambian Cody Drameh ahead of the summer transfer window despite his recent promotion to the English Premier League with Hull City, Footy-Africa can exclusively reveal.
The versatile defender had been heavily linked with a move away from Hull City during the winter transfer window earlier this year, but a proposed transfer failed to materialise on deadline day. However, reports suggest the 23-year-old remains open to leaving the club this summer in search of regular playing time.
Drameh played an important role in Hull Cityβs successful campaign, featuring in 25 matches across all competitions. He was also part of the side that secured promotion to the Premier League following their narrow 1-0 playoff final victory over Middlesbrough FC on Saturday.
Both Watford and Charlton Athletic are believed to be monitoring the situation closely as they seek defensive reinforcements ahead of the new Championship season. Dramehβs experience, versatility, and top-level exposure continue to make him an attractive option for clubs aiming to strengthen their squads.
Having previously gained experience in English football with Leeds United, Luton Town, Birmingham City, and Hull City, the Gambian defender is expected to attract further interest during the upcoming transfer window as uncertainty over his long-term future continues.
