Ohi Olonge, the representative of Jason Adigun, in an exclusive interview with Footy-Africa has discussed his client’s transfer from Chelmsford City to English League One side Stockport County.
Nigeria-eligible forward has put pen to paper on a two-year contract.
“Jason has earned this opportunity. Nothing has been handed to him. Three seasons of consistent performances, regular minutes and end product have led to this moment,” Olonge exclusively told Footy-Africa.
Olonge also explained why Stockport County emerged as the ideal destination for the talented forward.
“Stockport presented the right platform at the right time. We weren’t looking for just any move; we wanted an environment where Jason can continue to develop, compete and make an impact.”

The agent stressed the importance of regular first-team football in a young player’s development.
“I’ve always believed that for young players there is no substitute for senior football. Games, minutes and responsibility accelerate development far more than simply being attached to a bigger club.”
Adigun’s versatility is another quality that attracted Stockport County.
“Jason is a dynamic attacking player with the versatility to play as a No. 10, No. 8 or from wide areas. His biggest strength is his ability to consistently influence games through goals and assists.”
“This is an important milestone, but it’s exactly that, a milestone, one that should hopefully propel him forward. The objective now is to establish himself in League One and continue proving he belongs at an even higher level,” he added.
The 22-year-old joins the Hatters after an impressive campaign with National League South outfit Chelmsford City, where he scored eight goals and established himself as one of the club’s standout performers.
