Gambian international Hamza Barry is on the verge of completing a move to Saudi Division One League club Al Raed following the expiration of his short-term contract with fellow league side Al Zulfi, Footy-Africa can exclusively reveal.
Negotiations between the two parties are understood to be at an advanced stage, with the deal expected to be finalized in time for the midfielder to join Al Raedโs pre-season preparations ahead of the new campaign.
The move would represent another significant step in Barryโs career after an outstanding season with Al Zulfi, where he established himself as one of the leagueโs most influential midfielders.
The Scorpions star enjoyed a highly productive 2025/26 campaign, making 32 appearances in all competitions while scoring four goals and providing eight assists. His creative influence was evident throughout the season, as he finished as Al Zulfiโs leading creator and the player with the highest number of goal contributions.
Barry also demonstrated remarkable consistency, playing 2,720 minutes over the course of the campaign and cementing his place as one of the first names on the team sheet.
His impressive performances have now earned him the opportunity to continue his dazzling career up in Saudi, with Al Raed identifying the experienced midfielder as a key addition to strengthen the squad ahead of the new season.
Known for his vision, technical ability and composure in possession, Barry has built a reputation as a midfielder capable of controlling the tempo of matches while contributing effectively in the attacking third.
If the deal is completed as expected, the move will see the Gambian international return to Saudi Arabiaโs second-tier, where he will be looking to build on his excellent form and make an immediate impact at Al Raed.
