Gambian defender Yaya Bojang is on the verge of completing a transfer to Portuguese Liga side FC Alverca after the club reached a full agreement with Danish outfit Odense Boldklub, Footy-Africa can exclusively reveal.
The two clubs have agreed on the terms of the transfer, with Bojang already in Portugal to complete the remaining formalities, including his medical, before the move is officially announced.
The transfer comes after another impressive campaign from the former Real de Banjul FC centre-back, who continued to establish himself as one of Odenseโs most dependable defenders. During the 2025/26 season, Bojang started 11 of the clubโs 27 league matches, accumulating 1,224 minutes of action while averaging at least 45 minutes per appearance.
Since arriving in Denmark ahead of the 2024/25 season, the Gambian international has made 34 appearances for Odense across all competitions, earning praise for his consistency, physical presence and composure in defence.
His performances have not gone unnoticed, with FC Alverca identifying the 22-year-old as an ideal addition to strengthen their squad ahead of the new campaign.
A product of Real de Banjulโs renowned youth system, Bojang has continued to progress since making the move to Europe, developing into one of The Gambiaโs most promising central defenders. His move to Portugal represents another important step in his career as he looks to test himself in a new footballing environment.
According to Transfermarkt, Bojang currently has an estimated market value of โฌ800,000, highlighting his growing reputation in European football.
