Ghanaian-born Togo international Kennedy Boateng has left Ghana to complete his move to Saudi Pro League side Al Fateh, with the defender set to sign a two-year contract as a free agent, sources have confirmed to Footy-Africa.
The 28-year-old centre-back departed Accra on Sunday night and is expected to undergo a medical before putting pen to paper on a two-year deal with the Saudi club.
Boateng joins Al Fateh after an impressive spell with Romanian side Dinamo BucureΘti, where he established himself as one of the league’s most reliable defenders through a series of commanding performances.
The move comes after the expiration of his contract with Dinamo BucureΘti, allowing the experienced defender to make the switch to Saudi Arabia as a free agent.
Al Fateh moved swiftly to secure Boateng’s signature as they look to strengthen their defensive options ahead of the new Saudi Pro League season, with the Ghanaian-born defender bringing valuable experience from his time in European football.
Boateng, who was born in Ghana but represents Togo at international level, is expected to be officially unveiled by Al Fateh once he completes the remaining paperwork and medical formalities.
