Interest from Wrexham, Norwich City and Anderlecht in Ghanaian forward Augustine Boakye remains at a basic stage, with no formal approaches made for the Saint-Etienne attacker, a source has told Footy-Africa.
The 25-year-old has emerged as a potential target for several clubs following an impressive campaign in Ligue 2 last season, with the three clubs showing initial interest in his situation.
However, the source says there has been no concrete move from any of the interested clubs so far.
βThe interest is basic for now. There has been no formal approach from any of the clubs,β the source told Footy-Africa.
Boakye is currently focused on Saint-Etienne and has already featured in both of the club’s opening games of the new season.
He also provided an assist against Sochaux as he continues to play an important role for the French side.
The Ghanaian was included in Carlos Queiroz’s 26-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, but did not make an appearance during the tournament.

Saint-Etienne are not under pressure to sell the Ghanaian and will only consider an offer that meets their valuation of around β¬6 million.
Boakye joined Saint-Etienne from Austrian side Wolfsberger in 2024 for around β¬3 million and is contracted to the French club until 2028.
He enjoyed a strong 2025/26 season, scoring six goals and providing nine assists in 31 Ligue 2 appearances.
Despite the growing interest, Boakye’s immediate focus remains on Saint-Etienne, with no formal transfer negotiations currently taking place.
