FC Copenhagen have had a €2.5 million offer for Ghanaian defender Nathaniel Adjei rejected by Lorient, Footy-Africa can exclusively reveal.
Copenhagen are one of several clubs interested in the 23-year-old, but their opening bid is well below what Lorient are looking for.
Lorient want a fee closer to what they paid to sign Adjei permanently from Hammarby IF in 2024. The French club paid around €5.1 million for the defender, with another €2 million in potential bonuses.
That means Lorient are looking for an offer significantly higher than Copenhagen’s proposal before they consider letting the defender leave.
Strasbourg, Sunderland and Hull City are also keeping tabs on Adjei, but none of them has made a concrete offer so far.

For now, Adjei is focused on Lorient and is expected to stay unless a suitable offer arrives. He is also expected to be involved when Lorient face Nice this weekend after impressing during pre-season.
Adjei joined Lorient permanently in 2024 after leaving Hammarby. He has two years left on his contract.
His first season in France was affected by a serious injury, but he bounced back strongly last season and became one of Lorient’s most reliable defenders.
With Copenhagen’s first offer rejected and other suitors yet to make a formal move, Adjei remains focused on Lorient as the new season begins.
