Ghana midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana‘s move to Sassuolo could eventually be worth €9 million, with sources revealing details of the agreement exclusively to Footy-Africa.
Sulemana has signed a season-long loan agreement with the Serie A side after Sassuolo reached a deal with Atalanta.
The agreement includes a €7 million option to buy, which could rise to €9 million including bonuses if Sassuolo decide to make the 23-year-old’s move permanent.
Sassuolo will have the opportunity to secure Sulemana on a three-year contract should they activate the purchase option at the end of the season.
The deal brings an end to competition for the Ghana international, with several clubs having shown interest during the transfer window.

Turkish side Erzurumspor had opened talks over a possible move for Sulemana, while Torino were among the Serie A clubs monitoring his situation.
Getafe made a last minute bid but Sassuolo ultimately moved ahead of the competition and agreed terms with Atalanta.
Sulemana began his senior career with Hellas Verona before joining Cagliari in 2023. He moved to Atalanta in July 2024 and remains under contract with the club until June 2028.
The midfielder spent parts of the 2025/26 campaign on loan at Bologna and Cagliari before returning to Atalanta.

He will now continue his career with Sassuolo, with the Italian club having the chance to turn the loan into a permanent transfer for a potential fee of up to €9 million.
