Spartak Moscow have officially announced the signing of Ghana international Alexander Djiku from Turkish giants Fenerbahçe. The experienced centre-back has penned a two-year contract and will wear the number four shirt for the Russian Premier League side.
“Our club and Turkish Fenerbahce have concluded a deal for the transfer of Ghana national team defender Alexander Djiku,” Spartak confirmed in their statement.
“We warmly welcome the Ghanaian defender to Spartak, who will play for the red-and-whites under number four, and wish him success!”

The 31-year-old defender is a product of French football, having risen through the ranks at Bastia before stints with Caen and Strasbourg, where he became a Ligue 1 regular. Djiku made 117 appearances and scored three goals for Strasbourg, earning his first Ghana call-up in 2020.
Since then, he has represented the Black Stars 34 times, netting two goals and featuring in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, where he played two matches.

Djiku joined Fenerbahçe in 2023, where he quickly established himself, making 51 appearances and scoring three goals in all competitions. Spartak Moscow now add a wealth of defensive experience to their ranks as they aim to strengthen their push for domestic and European success.
