Kasımpaşa are on the verge of tying down Ghanaian centre-back Nicholas Opoku to a longer stay, with the club and player reaching a full agreement on a contract extension, Africafoot understands.

Opoku, who joined the Istanbul side from SC Amiens in August 2024, has swiftly become a key figure in the heart of their defence. His current deal is due to run until June 2026, but the club’s hierarchy has moved early to secure his services for a longer period following months of impressive displays.

Sources close to the negotiations revealed to Africafoot that “the management of Kasımpaşa has offered a new 2-year contract to the tall central defender (1.90 m).”

The proposal is said to come with a sizeable salary adjustment  Opoku, who presently pockets €24,000 monthly, is poised to see that figure climb to €35,000 under the terms of the new agreement.

The 26-year-old has been a constant presence in the team this season, already accumulating 13 league appearances in the Turkish Süper Lig. His performances have not only solidified his place but have also helped elevate his market value, which currently stands at €1.5 million according to Transfermarkt.

With all parties aligned, the formal signing of the extension is expected to be completed in the coming days, marking another chapter in Opoku’s steady rise in European football.
