Former Super Eagles striker Dominic Iorfa believes Tolu Arokodare has what it takes to succeed in the English Premier League, should his rumoured move materialise this summer, Footy-Africa exclusively reports.

Standing at 6’4″, Arokodare has become one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe after finishing as the top scorer in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League last season with Genk.

The powerful Nigerian forward netted 23 goals and added seven assists across 45 appearances in all competitions, catching the attention of top clubs on the continent.

German giants Bayern Munich are reportedly keeping tabs on him, but it is Fulham in the English Premier League that appear to have a more concrete interest.

The London side is believed to be seriously considering a move for the 24-year-old, who has previously spoken about his admiration for English football.

Genk yet to register formal interest from Burnley for Arokodare

Valued at around €18 million, Arokodare fits within Fulham’s budget, and a move to the Premier League could be the next big step in his career.

Dominic Iorfa, who played for Nigeria at the 1988 Seoul Olympics and had a stint in England with Queens Park Rangers, believes Arokodare has the ideal profile for Premier League football.

β€œI reckon it will be a good move for him as he has the physical attributes to play in England,” Iorfa said exclusively for Footy-Africa. β€œHe is a big, strong lad and can also run, so he will not have much problems adjusting to life in the Premier League if the move pulls through. I believe he will be a better player if he moves to England.”

Iorfa, whose son Dominic Iorfa Jr. also plays professionally in England, added that Fulham would be a suitable landing spot for the striker because of the familiar faces in the squad.

β€œWe have two players there at Fulham that can help him settle down,” he said. β€œWith Alex (Iwobi) and Calvin (Bassey), he will be in good hands there if the move happens, and they will help him settle down. They are already familiar with each other in the Super Eagles, so it will be easy, and financially, it will be better for him as I am sure he will earn more in England than he does in Belgium. So I reckon it will be an all-round good move for him,” Iorfa added.

Arokodare is currently under contract with Genk until 2027, but the Belgian club is reportedly open to offers. With Fulham circling and the player eager to take the next step in his career, a summer transfer may be on the horizon.
