Kelvin Boateng’s agent, Max Hagmayr, has described the striker’s move to Austria Vienna as a major step in his career, backing the Ghanaian to flourish at the top level, Footy-Africa exclusively reports.

Boateng, 24, joined Austria Vienna this summer on a free transfer after two successful seasons in the Austrian second tier with First Vienna FC. He signed a four-year deal that runs until 2029.

Speaking exclusively to Footy-Africa, Hagmayr revealed the move was part of a long-term strategy.

“I always have a plan with my players, and with Kelvin, it’s no different,” he said. “I started working with him three years ago when he wasn’t playing much in Slovakia, but I believed in his quality. I moved him to a traditional second-tier club in Vienna to rebuild his momentum, and he delivered.”

Boateng scored 22 goals in 46 games for First Vienna, including 12 last season, attracting interest from top-flight sides.

“This summer, we made the step to Austria Vienna, a top club that plays internationally. It’s the right move for his development, and I’m sure he’ll have a great future there,” Hagmayr added.

A product of the Right to Dream Academy, Boateng has previously featured for FC Porto B, Aves, Spartak Trnava, and Karviná. His new club, Austria Vienna, is one of the most historic sides in Austrian football and regularly competes in European competitions.
