Uganda Cranes striker Steven Dese Mukwala has taken a bold step in his career, joining Libyan powerhouse Al Nasr Benghazi from Tanzanian titans Simba SC.

The 25-year-old, who spent the latter half of 2025 dazzling fans at Simba SC with 13 goals in 28 appearances, inked a one-and-a-half-year deal with the three-time Libyan Premier League champions.

Speaking exclusively to Footy-Africa in brief interview, Mukwala expressed his excitement about testing himself in North Africa.

“Joining Al Nasr is a dream for me,” he exclusively told Footy-Africa. “The club’s history, the passion of their fans, and the challenge of competing in a new league are exactly what I’ve been looking for. I’m ready to give everything on the pitch and help the team achieve more glory.”

Mukwala also reflected on the personal growth he hopes to achieve with the move.

“Every step of my career has been about pushing myself further, and this is another big test,” he added. “I want to adapt quickly, learn from my teammates, and show that Ugandan footballers can make an impact anywhere. Moving to Libya is more than just a transfer, it’s a chance to grow, compete, and leave a mark.”

Mukwala’s move marks a fresh chapter in his journey through East and West African football, having previously plied his trade at clubs including Vipers SC, Maroons FC, URA FC, Edgar’s Youth, and Ghana’s Asante Kotoko.
