South African powerhouse Kaizer Chiefs have entered the race for Ghana Premier League side, Asante Kotoko midfield sensation Hubert Gyau after being impressed by his rapid rise in Kumasi, as per Kickgh.com.

The 20-year-old has enjoyed a breakout campaign since his switch from Berekum Chelsea at the start of the season, seamlessly settling into life with the Porcupine Warriors. Gyau’s blend of drive, tactical awareness and eye for goal has quickly made him one of Kotoko’s most dependable performers in the middle of the park.

His numbers tell a compelling story. Across 17 appearances in all competitions, Gyau has struck four goals and collected several NASCO Man of the Match awards, clear evidence of his growing authority and consistency in the Ghana Premier League.

Such form has inevitably attracted attention beyond Ghana. Kaizer Chiefs are understood to be closely tracking the midfielder as they map out plans to reinforce their squad ahead of the next transfer windows. The Soweto giants are currently evaluating key targets as part of a wider rebuilding process.

Sources reveal that Chiefs are expected to table a formal offer to Kotoko in the coming days as they step up their pursuit of the highly-rated youngster.

With interest from other foreign clubs also beginning to intensify, Kotoko may soon find themselves under pressure to fend off suitors for one of their brightest young prospects.
