Burnley vs Bournemouth match preview

Burnley head into this encounter in 19th place in the Premier League standings with just 19 points after 29 matches and are nine points from safety. The Clarets already look destined to suffer relegation and return to the Championship unless they win their remaining matches, beginning with the visit of Bournemouth to Turf Moor.

They have only won four times this season, a tally only more than bottom-side Wolves, while they have conceded 58 goals which is the most of any club in the league this season.

Bournemouth, meanwhile, are hoping to finish in an European spot at the end of the season and have found themselves in ninth place on the standings with 40 points. The Cherries have won nine league games this season, recording 13 draws, which stands as the most in the league, and losing just seven times.

Andoni Iraola’s men also have the sixth-best goalscoring record in the Premier League this season with 44 goals, although they have not properly replaced Ghanaian winger Antoine Semenyo, who left the club to join Manchester City in January.

Prediction

This fixture has a rich history of producing multiple goals and this particular clash will continue the trend, especially with both club’s defensive record in recent matches.

  • 20.12.2025 – Bournemouth 1-1 Burnley
  • 03.03.2024 – Burnley 0-2 Bournemouth

  • 07.01.2023 – Bournemouth 2-4 Burnley
  • 09.02.2021 – Burnley 0-2 Bournemouth

Bournemouth have held the upper hand in this fixture in recent meetings, winning three of the last five matches between both sides, with Burnley winning just once.

The Cherries have also won on their last two visits to Turf Moor, keeping clean sheets on both occasions.

Recent form: Burnley

Burnley have endured a poor form all through the season and have won only once in their last five games, defeating Crystal Palace in a dramatic 3-2 win in February.

The Clarets have kept just two clean sheets across all their matches this season, with their last coming against Everton in December.

Recent form: Bournemouth

Bournemouth have only lost one of their last 10 matches across all competitions, losing to Newcastle United on penalties in the FA Cup in January.

However, they have only won four times during this period and have recorded five draws, including in their last three league matches.

Lyle Foster: career, salary, market value and more

South African forward Lyle Foster has managed just three goals in the league for Burnley this season, but will be hoping to add to his tally against Bournemouth.

The striker’s pace and ability to linkup with his teammates will be very crucial to their chances of securing a result from this encounter.
