Gambian forward Abdoulie Manneh is intensifying preparations for the next stage of his career as the January transfer window approaches its climax. The 21-year-old is currently in the United Kingdom, where he is undergoing a tailored fitness programme under the guidance of a special trainer, focused on regaining full sharpness ahead of a potential move.

Manneh’s absence from Mjällby AIF’s ongoing training camp in Portugal has fuelled speculation, but the Swedish club has clarified the situation.

Speaking-exclusively to Footy-Africa, Mjällby’s Director of Football Hans Larsson confirmed that the young attacker remains in England as discussions over a possible transfer continue.

“He is still in England and we hope that he will be sold there before the window closes on February 2,” Larsson said.

“It is quite close with a club so we did not think there was any point in flying him here and then there again in case something were to happen.”

Manneh’s Birmingham City move collapses amid contractual dispute

The decision underlines Mjällby’s expectation that Manneh’s future will be resolved imminently, with negotiations believed to be at an advanced stage.

Earlier in the window, Manneh came close to sealing moves to Coventry City FC and Birmingham City FC, but both deals ultimately collapsed at the negotiation phase. Despite those setbacks, the highly rated Gambian remains optimistic and focused, continuing to train diligently while awaiting clarity on his next destination.

With the transfer deadline of February 2 fast approaching, all signs suggest that Abdoulie Manneh’s next chapter is just around the corner. For the young Gambian talent, the coming days could prove decisive as he looks to secure a move that reignites his momentum and opens a fresh pathway in his promising career.
