Danish second-tier side Boldklubben af 1893 (B.93) have completed the signing of Ghanaian defender Joseph Kinful following a successful agreement with Danish third division club Ishøj IF, Footy-Africa can exclusively confirm.

The 24-year-old, who previously featured for Ghana Premier League outfit Bechem United, has put pen to paper on a three-year contract with the Copenhagen-based club. He joins B.93 after an impressive one-and-a-half-year spell with Ishøj IF, where his consistency and defensive solidity earned him interest from clubs in higher divisions.

“He’s going from the third league in Denmark to the second league, which is a league known for its quality. That’s why a lot of important deals in Denmark also come from the second division,” a source close to the player told Footy-Africa.

“The club’s style of play matches Joseph’s qualities perfectly, so it was an easy decision for him. However, negotiations between the two clubs lasted for about two weeks before a final agreement was reached today.”

Kinful’s move represents a step up in competition, with the Danish 1st Division widely regarded as one of the most competitive second-tier leagues in Europe and a proven pathway for players progressing to top-flight football.

At B.93, Kinful is expected to strengthen the club’s defensive options as they push for a strong campaign in the second half of the season. The Ghanaian defender brings physicality, composure on the ball and valuable experience from both the Ghanaian and Danish football systems.

His move continues the growing trend of Ghanaian players using Denmark as a platform to develop and attract attention from clubs across Europe.
