Italian Serie B side Avellino 1912 have submitted a request to Cagliari Calcio to sign Zambian teenage sensation Joseph Liteta on loan, Footy-Africa can exclusively confirm.
The 19-year-old in September extended his contract with Cagliari until 2030 but has been limited to just two Serie A appearances this season.
The Italian club view Liteta as a long-term prospect and are therefore unwilling to sell him, but are open to a loan move to aid his development.

Liteta’s representatives also believe a temporary move would be beneficial for the highly rated midfielder, who made his AFCON debut against Morocco earlier this year.
Avellino, who are pushing for promotion to Serie A, are currently strengthening their squad in a bid to boost their promotion hopes before the end of the campaign.
They are four points below the playoffs brackets and 19 points behind leaders Venezia.
