Ugandan international and goalkeeper Chrispus Kusiima is set to conduct his medical tests with four-time Uganda Premier League champions URA FC, ahead of the completion of his highly anticipated move, Footy-Africa can exclusively confirm.

Kusiima, who has won the golden glove for the past two seasons in the Ugandan league, has been a free agent following his exit from 2023/24 Uganda Cup champions Kitara FC last month. His contract with the latter expired and denied an extension, as he eyed the URA FC move.

A source close to the 32-year-old has disclosed that negotiations with URA FC happened in the preceding week, and that the player will have his medicals late on Friday, and subsequently allay his signature on a two-year contract.

“He (Kusiima) has held talks with URA FC in the last days, and all is set to be completed before the weekend. His sign-on fee had been the hindrance but that was sorted by Thursday. He will have the medicals and sign his contract on Friday, with a sign-on fee of €27,000. It’s a done deal and he’ll take up the number one spot AT URA FC,” the source exclusively told Footy-Africa.

Iguma joins URA with relative experience, having previously played at Kitara, Express FC and Gaddafi FC in the Uganda Premier League. Last season, he played 31 matches for Kitara across the League, the Uganda Cup and the CAF Confederation Cup.

At the international level, Kusiima, has received several call ups to the Uganda senior national team, The Cranes, and has been capped two times. He is part of the African Nations Championships (CHAN) squad set to play in the August tournament.
