Gambian international Abdoulie Bamba Sanyang has opted to remain at Hajduk Split after turning down a proposed move to Belarusian champions ML Vitebsk, despite the two clubs initially reaching an agreement on a deal valued at around €500,000, including bonuses, Footy-Africa can confirm.

The 26-year-old Scorpions right winger made it clear that his priority is to continue his journey with the Croatian giants, choosing to fight for his place in a competitive Hajduk squad rather than seek a new challenge abroad.

Sources close to the player indicate that Bamba is motivated by the stronger sporting project and improved professional conditions on offer in Split.

Bamba joined Hajduk in the summer of 2024 from French side Grenoble Foot 38 and has since become a useful attacking option for the club.

Abdoulie Bamba Sanyang set for Belarus move as Hajduk Split exit nears

Across all competitions, he has featured in 47 matches, scoring six goals and providing three assists, contributing with pace, work rate, and versatility on the flanks.

His decision to stay is seen as a boost for Hajduk as they continue to compete on multiple fronts, while also underlining Bamba’s determination to cement a more prominent role at the club.

For the Scorpions winger, the focus now shifts to making the most of his opportunity and pushing for greater consistency and impact in the famous white shirt.
