Swedish top-flight side IF Elfsborg have completed the signing of highly rated Nigerian midfielder Oladimeji “Muiz” Abdulmuiz from Beyond Limits Football Academy in Nigeria.

Media Manager of Beyond Limits, Muzamil Raji speaking exclusively to Footy-Africa has said Elfsborg have a rare gem on their hands and gave a brief background to how the player was discovered and nurtured.

“Muiz joined us from the Ekiti State FA program where our coaches spotted him in 2021 after the Oyebode Cup. He was in the U-14s, they played our U15s and then after the South West Youth Cup, he joined Beyond Limits Academy,” he stated.

“Players like Muiz know how to change a game. From then you could see the talent. He is the type of player that can change a game when they are in and I think Elfsborg are lucky to have him He is very fast in his thinking and decides what to do with the ball immediately, he can also maneuvre in tight places. That ability to make quick decisions under pressure, combined with technical sharpness, makes him a constant threat in attacking situations.”

Garba Lawal talks about his role in Abdulmuiz’s transfer to Elfsborg

“Overall he is a very good player technically and he is someone we can keep our eyes on to do great things in the future. I am sure he will do well with them and if he keeps his head level-headed, the sky will be the limit for him,” he concluded.

The 17-year-old, who featured for Nigeria’s U-17 team two years ago, has secured a permanent move to the Scandinavian club and signed a long-term contract that will run until the summer of 2029. Muiz is expected to officially link up with Elfsborg’s first team in June when he turns 18.

A product of the renowned Beyond Limits Academy, Muiz caught the attention of Elfsborg’s scouts during last year’s Gothia Cup, where he emerged champion with his Nigerian side. The Swedish club continued to monitor his progress during subsequent Creative Championship (TCC) league matches in Nigeria before making their move.

The talented midfielder will spend a few weeks in Borås to familiarise himself with the club’s environment before returning to Nigeria. His full integration into the men’s first team is scheduled for the summer.

Despite interest from several clubs, Elfsborg ultimately won the race for the promising youngster, showing their belief in his immense potential as one of Nigeria’s brightest emerging talents.
