Newcastle United have made an enquiry about RB Salzburg forward Edmund Baidoo as they assess options ahead of the summer transfer window, according to Africafoot.

The 20-year-old Ghana striker has attracted attention with his performances in the Austrian Bundesliga this season, contributing seven goals and one assist in 34 appearances in all competitions.

Sources indicate that Newcastle have asked about the player’s availability, with initial discussions understood to have taken place with RB Salzburg. The Premier League club are exploring a potential move at the end of the campaign.

Baidoo, who joined Salzburg in 2024 and is under contract until June 2029, is also believed to be on the radar of Borussia Dortmund.

Salzburg are thought to value the forward at around €10m. Newcastle would need to agree personal terms with the player’s representatives should negotiations progress.

For now, Baidoo remains focused on finishing the season strongly in Austria, though a summer transfer has not been ruled out.
