African and Tanzanian powerhouse Simba SC have turned down a €100,000 initial offer from Algerian top-flight side MC Alger for winger Denis Kibu, exclusive sources have disclosed to Footy-Africa.
MC Alger had emerged as the outright favorites to net the versed 26-year-old attacker from Simba, ahead of Kaizer Chiefs, who had also expressed serious intent. However, Simba have made it clear that the player will only leave if their valuation is met by any interested teams.
An exclusive source at 11MANGMT, who are Kibu’s representatives, confirmed to Footy-Africa that Simba values the player at €165,000. It should be noted that his contract still has a year, as it will run down in the summer of 2026 in June.
“MC Alger sent their first formal bid of €100,000 on Saturday, but Simba instantly rejected it. They’re demanding in the excess of €165,000. They are not desperate in letting him leave without what they consider fair valuation. I expect MC Alger to improve their bid on Sunday or Monday. They are hopeful Simba will sit for talks with the second bid,” Footy-Africa was exclusively informed.
In the preceding 2024/25 season, the attacker netted eight goals and registered three assists in 24 games across all competitions. In the 2023/24 season, the winger, whose Transfermarkt valuation is estimated at €175,000, registered five goals and nine assists in 27 matches. He has been at Simba since the 2021/22 season, having joined from Mbeya City FC. He has played for Geita Gold SC in the past.
Internationally, Kibu has made 27 competitive caps for the Tanzanian senior national team (The Taifa Stars) cap, registering two goals and five assists in the process.
