Bakary Bojang, defender Abdou Wadou Sarr‘s agent, in an exclusive interview with Footy-Africa has elaborated on his client signing a two-year permanent deal with Danish Super League side Odense Boldklub from a notable Gambian KGH Sports Football Academy.
He revealed that the young defender had attracted interest from multiple clubs before his move, but Odense ultimately stood out as the ideal destination for his development.
“Before his trial at OB, there was interest from two other Danish clubs. However, we believe that Odense is the best option for him at this stage of his career,” Bojang exclusively told Footy-Africa.
Bojang also shared insight into how he first identified Sarr’s potential during a regional youth competition in Senegal, highlighting the defender’s standout qualities both on and off the pitch.
“I first scouted him at the WAFU tournament with the U-17. He possesses strong leadership qualities, communicates well, and has a natural ability to organise and control his defensive line. Physically, he is strong and comfortable both in long passing and short distribution,” he added.

The former Gambia U-17 captain earned his move following a successful trial spell earlier this year. Invited to Denmark in January, Sarr featured in the prestigious Christian Eriksen Cup, where he impressed against strong opposition with composed defensive displays and mature leadership beyond his years.
Sarr’s move represents another important step in his budding career, as he transitions into European football with a club known for nurturing young talent.
At Odense, he is expected to continue his development in a structured and competitive environment that emphasises both technical growth and personal maturity.
