Peter Tolulope, the coach and mentor for Nigerian youngster Paul Salako, who has joined Swedish side BK Olympic from Seamoriow Football Academy on a long-term deal, in an exclusive interview with Footy-Africa has stated that the promising forward has all it takes to reach the top level in the coming years.

“Paul Salako was picked from a scouting programme by Puma Football Academy, a good academy that produces quality talents and prospects that we can build and prepare for the future,” Tolulope exclusively told Footy-Africa. “We had a few teams ask about him, but we decided alongside the management of Seamoriow to allow him to join BK Olympic, which is a good environment for him to grow and improve without too much pressure.”

“He is a very good player, a team player, hardworking, and someone who gives his all anytime he steps on the pitch. He has a good work rate and plays to instructions. He has a physique similar to Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson, who is currently at Chelsea. I think they are similar because of their playing style and work rate. Salako tracks back to help the team and also loves to press defenders.”

“For sure, as my player and someone I have worked with, I know he will achieve bigger things in the near future and play for top European teams like Chelsea because I believe in his ability. But he has to remain consistent, maintain a strong work ethic, and hopefully represent Nigeria soon. His move abroad will definitely help him improve, and hopefully we will see more of him in the coming years,” Tolulope concluded.

The tall forward makes the move to Europe and Sweden despite attracting interest from clubs in Denmark and Norway. Salako has been a popular youth player in the Lagos football scene and a prominent figure in the Nationwide League One.
