Ghanaian defender Benson Anang has completed a move to Cypriot side Akritas Chlorakas as a free agent after parting ways with Dinamo Tbilisi, Footy-Africa can exclusively report.

Anang’s agent successfully negotiated the termination of his contract with the Georgian club following a series of injury struggles and limited game time. Although he was previously eyeing a move to Scotland with interest from Rangers, concerns over his fitness stalled the transfer. The deal with Akritas is seen as an opportunity for the 25-year-old to regain full fitness and rebuild momentum.

While the contract is for two years, Anang is expected to spend the initial period focusing on recovering from recurring injury issues before being fully integrated into the squad.

Anang made just seven appearances for Dinamo Tbilisi last season after joining in January 2024 on a 12-month deal. However, relations between his camp and the club deteriorated, leading to an early exit despite his contract running until December 2025.

He began his career at New Life FC in Accra and later moved to Slovakian outfit MSK Ε½ilina in 2023. His progress there earned him a senior national team call-up, and he has made three appearances for the Black Stars since 2020, registering one assist.
