Ivorian international midfielder Lazare Amani is on the verge of completing a return to Belgian football after reaching an agreement to join Cercle Brugge from Greek top-flight side Kifisia, Footy-Africa can exclusively report.

The 28-year-old is expected to travel to Brugge in the coming days to undergo a medical examination, with the transfer now in its final stages. Reports indicate that a two-year contract has already been prepared for the midfielder, pending the successful completion of the medical.

Amani is no stranger to Belgian football, having previously featured for Union Saint-Gilloise before his contract with the club was terminated last summer. Following his departure, he moved to Greece in September and joined Kifisia, where he quickly became an important member of the squad.

During the 2025/26 domestic league season, the Ivory Coast international made 29 appearances for Kifisia, contributing two goals and one assist from midfield. His performances attracted interest from several clubs, with Cercle Brugge ultimately moving closest to securing his signature.

Known for his energy, ball-winning ability and versatility in midfield, Amani is expected to add valuable experience and quality to Cercle Brugge’s squad ahead of the new campaign.

According to Transfermarkt, the midfielder currently holds an estimated market value of €1 million, underlining his status as an experienced and proven performer at the professional level.
