French Ligue 1 side Toulouse has made inquiries about Hibernian midfielder Miguel Chaiwa as interest in the highly rated youngster continues to grow across Europe, Footy-Africa can exclusively confirm.
The 21-year-old has emerged as one of Hibernian’s most sought-after assets, with several clubs monitoring his situation ahead of the upcoming transfer window. Alongside Toulouse, Belgian giants Club Brugge, Scottish champions Celtic, and Italian side Genoa are all said to be keeping close tabs on the midfielder.
Hibernian is understood to prefer a move abroad for Chaiwa should a transfer materialise, rather than strengthening a domestic rival within the Scottish Premiership. This stance could potentially give clubs outside Scotland an advantage in the race for his signature.
Chaiwa remains under a long-term contract at Hibernian, with his current deal running until May 2028. The agreement also contains an option for the club to extend his stay by an additional year, placing Hibernian in a strong negotiating position.
The midfielder’s growing reputation and increasing interest from clubs across multiple European leagues could significantly influence his valuation in the coming months. According to Transfermarkt, Chaiwa currently has an estimated market value of €1.2 million, although that figure is expected to rise if competition for his services intensifies.
At this stage, no official asking price has been set by Hibernian, but any club hoping to secure the talented midfielder will likely need to submit a convincing offer to persuade the Scottish club to part with one of its promising young talents.
