Ghanaian international midfielder Majeed Ashimeru has accepted a proposal to leave Belgian Pro League outfit Anderlecht for German Bundesliga side St. Pauli after reaching an agreement on personal terms, Footy-Africa can exclusively confirm.

However, despite St.Pauli’s agreement with the player, they are yet to reach leveled grounds with his parent club, Anderlecht. The latter is still assessing the €3 million bid that was formally sent in by St. Pauli two days back, before making a final decision on a sale.

A source close to Ashimeru’s agency Libera Sports, has exclusively confirmed the current developments, going ahead to indicate that the versatile player has a three-year offer from St. Pauli, with an offer for an additional year. His contract with Anderlecht is set to run down in June 2027.

“Ashimeru has already given a green light to St. Pauli after days of negotiations that resulted in agreeing personal terms. What is set to delay a deal from happening is Anderlecht, who are yet to make a decision on the €3 million bid which was sent on Sunday. They’re assessing their options on whether they can have a replacement before selling,” the source exclusively told Footy-Africa.

Ashimeru, who can also play as an attacking midfielder, has spent the past five seasons at Anderlecht.  Across his spell there, he has played 129 games. He has also had two separate loan spells at RSCA Future. In the past, he has played for Salzburg, St. Gallen, Wolfsberger AC and Austria Lustenau.

Meanwhile, at the international stage, the 27-year-old, whose Transfermarkt valuation is estimated at €1.5 million, has played 13 matches for the Ghana senior national team, The Black Stars.
