Premier League champions Arsenal are considering making a move for Moroccan youngster Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille during the summer transfer window.
Mikel Artetaโs side are exploring options to strengthen their squad, especially in midfield, as they look to retain their league title next season and also mount a stronger challenge in Europe, as they continue their quest for a first UEFA Champions League trophy.
Meanwhile, the uncertainty surrounding the future of several key players have also seen them begin business early, as they aim to sort out their transfers early before the 2026-27 season commences.
Profile
Bouaddi began his career at Lille and went on to make his debut for the senior team in 2023. Since then, he has gradually developed into an important player for the club and played a huge role in their third placed finish in the 2025-26 season, as they secured a return to the UEFA Champions League.
The 18-year-old is also the youngest player to make 50 league appearances for Lille, surpassing Eden Hazardโs record. Born in France, Bouaddi switched allegiances to Morocco ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and enjoyed an impressive display in their opening 1-1 draw with Brazil, which has further strengthened his appeal to interested clubs.
Potential transfer breakdown
Ayyoub Bouaddi is valued at around โฌ50 million by Transfermarkt and is the second most valuable Moroccan footballer in the world, behind Achraf Hakimi.
However, Lille have also placed a valuation of โฌ80 million on the 20-year-old, who is also open to an exit provided he is guaranteed regular playing minutes.
The total investment in his signature should not exceed โฌ85 million, which would make him one of Arsenalโs most valuable additions in history.
The North London club currently leads the race, but must move quickly to seal a deal with Lille, with the likes of Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester City also lurking around for the signature of the exciting youngster.
