Ivory Coast forward Simon Adingra has become a subject of intense transfer speculation ahead of the summer transfer window with his long-term future uncertain at Premier League side Sunderland.
The 24-year-old only joined the Black Cats last summer following their promotion to the English top flight from fellow Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion in a deal worth up to ยฃ21 million plus add-ons.
However, he left the club a few months later after a disappointing spell, moving to the French Ligue 1 to join AS Monaco where he spent the rest of the campaign. He has now returned to the English club, where a major decision on his future awaits this summer.
Adingra is valued at around โฌ22 million according to Transfermarkt and he has already attracted interest from several clubs across Europe ahead of next season.
Here are four clubs the 24-year-old could end up at before the start of the next campaign.
AS Roma (Italy)
Italian side AS Roma have expressed strong interest in signing Simon Adingra this summer, giving him a way out of his predicament at Sunderland. The Serie A side are hoping to reinforce in attack ahead of next season as they look to challenge for trophies once again.
They have already missed out on the signing of Mason Greenwood after they refused to match Olympique Marseilleโs valuation, with Turkish side Fenerbahce very close to an agreement. This has led them to search for alternatives and Adingra has emerged as an affordable option who will strengthen the squad.
RB Leipzig (German)
Bundesliga side RB Leipzig are also interested in signing Simon Adingra this summer as they look to sign potential replacements for fellow Ivorian Yan Diomande, who could leave the club this summer.
Diomande has attracted interest from several clubs across Europe, but a move to Paris Saint-Germain could be close to completion in the coming weeks. With the 19-year-old likely to leave, Adingra would provide a quality alternative option on the flanks and the move could be what he needs to revive his career.
West Ham United (England)
Adingra could also end up at West Ham United this summer as he looks to rediscover the form that once made him one of the brightest prospects in English football.
The Hammers suffered relegation last season from the Premier League and are looking to reinforce to seal an immediate return to the top flight. Additionally, they could lose Crysencio Summerville to either Manchester United or Tottenham Hotspur this summer, which has already pushed them to move early for Adingra as a potential replacement.
Ipswich Town (England)
Newly promoted Premier League side Ipswich Town are also interested in signing Simon Adingra this summer. The Tractor Boys are looking to strengthen after sealing promotion to the top flight and want to avoid an immediate return to the Championship.
Adingraโs experience puts him top of their wishlist, and with the transfer likely to be very affordable, the 24-year-old is a very viable choice for the club in the attack.
