Brazilian club Cruzeiro have taken a significant step towards signing highly rated Gambian youngster Lamin Bojang after submitting an opening bid to TMT Academy for the promising forward, Footy-Africa can exclusively confirm.
The Brazilian outfit are keen to complete the transfer as quickly as possible as they look to secure one of The Gambia’s brightest emerging talents ahead of rival clubs also monitoring his situation.
Negotiations are now underway between the two clubs, with Cruzeiro pushing to reach an agreement that would see the Gambian U17 international begin his professional journey in South America.
Bojang has enjoyed an impressive campaign, further enhancing his reputation with his performances for Pipeline FC in the Lower River Region (LRR) Third Division League. The talented youngster played a pivotal role in helping the club lift the 2026 regional league title, finishing the competition with five goals.
Although Pipeline FC narrowly missed out on promotion during the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Third Division promotion play-offs, Bojang’s performances throughout the season attracted growing interest from clubs abroad.
Cruzeiro are now leading the race for his signature, but the Brazilian club are aware that they face competition from other interested teams tracking the youngster’s development.
A move to one of Brazil’s most prestigious clubs would represent a major milestone in Bojang’s career and further underline The Gambia’s growing reputation as a producer of exciting young football talent.
Discussions between Cruzeiro and TMT Academy are expected to continue in the coming days as both parties work towards reaching a final agreement on the transfer.
