Ugandan attacking midfielder Bronson Nsubuga has completed a transfer to Kenyan Premier League outfit Kenya Police FC, bringing an end to his stint with Shabana FC after just one campaign.
The creative midfielder makes the move within the Kenyan top flight after impressing during his debut season at Shabana, whom he joined ahead of the previous league campaign. His arrival bolsters the ranks of a Kenya Police side looking to strengthen its attacking options under Serbian head coach Dusan Stojanovic, the former SC Villa manager.
Nsubuga’s switch also follows another Ugandan departure from Shabana, with striker Brian Olega recently leaving the club by mutual consent before securing a move to Longwood University in the United States.
Renowned for his vision, composure in possession and ability to unlock stubborn defences, Nsubuga is expected to inject greater creativity into the Police midfield as the club eyes a stronger title challenge in the upcoming season.
The midfielder arrives with a wealth of experience gathered across Uganda and the Horn of Africa. During his career, he has featured for Maroons FC, Mbarara City, SC Victoria University, Jinja North, Blacks Power and Amuka Bright Stars, establishing himself as one of Uganda’s well-travelled playmakers.
Beyond Uganda, Nsubuga also enjoyed spells in the Somalia Premier League, where he turned out for Elman FC and Mogadishu City Club before making the move to Kenya.
Kenya Police concluded last season in third place, finishing behind AFC Leopards and league champions Gor Mahia, and will be hoping the Ugandan’s arrival provides the creative spark needed to mount an even stronger challenge in the new campaign.
