Aris Limassol are standing firm on their valuation of Ghanaian midfielder Alex Opoku Sarfo as KV Kortrijk push to secure his signature, a source close to the situation has confirmed to Footy-Africa.
Kortrijk have already submitted a proposal of €500,000 plus a further €100,000 in potential bonuses for the 21-year-old defensive midfielder, but Aris are refusing to lower their asking price.
Footy-Africa understands the Cypriot club want between €800,000 and €1 million for Sarfo, leaving a significant gap between their valuation and Kortrijk’s current proposal.
Kortrijk are not the only club interested in the Ghanaian, with Polish side Górnik Zabrze also in the race. Sporting Charleroi have also shown interest as clubs continue to assess the midfielder’s availability.
Sarfo is open to leaving Aris and has received an attractive proposal from Kortrijk regarding personal terms.
However, the main obstacle remains the agreement between the clubs, with Aris determined to secure a fee that reflects their valuation of the player.
Sarfo spent last season on loan at Russian second-tier side FC Pari Nizhny Novgorod, where he made 14 appearances and played 1,260 minutes.
He joined Aris Limassol from Ghanaian second-tier side Benab Football Club and subsequently extended his contract with the Cypriot club until 2028.
