Stoke City has officially launched a bid for Gambian winger Abdoulie Manneh, currently playing for Swedish side Mjällby AIF, in a move that intensifies what has become one of the most closely-watched transfer sagas of the summer, Footy-Africa exclusively reports.

The 22-year-old talent has been one of the standout performers in the Allsvenskan this season, and his meteoric rise has attracted a wave of interest from across Europe. His current market value stands at €1.5 million, but with multiple clubs circling, that figure could easily climb in the coming weeks.

According to exclusive information from the Footy-Africa’s source, Stoke City has entered the fray with hopes of bolstering their squad as they target promotion from the EFL Championship. The Potters are believed to be serious in their pursuit, but they face stiff competition.

Two English Premier League clubs — Wolverhampton Wanderers and AFC Bournemouth — have been closely monitoring Manneh’s situation. Both sides are keen on adding attacking depth and see the Gambian international as a low-risk, high-upside addition. Their interest signals a potential bidding war, especially if Mjällby remains firm on their valuation.

Manneh’s blistering pace, dribbling prowess, and attacking versatility have made him one of the most sought-after players in Scandinavia. Earlier this summer, Istanbul Başakşehir submitted a formal offer for the winger, only to see it rejected by Mjällby, who are reportedly holding out for a more competitive bid.

Elsewhere in Europe, Turkish powerhouse Fenerbahçe and Greek champions Olympiacos FC are also reportedly keen on securing Manneh’s signature. Both clubs offer the allure of top-tier European football and regular continental competition, which could be decisive in the player’s final decision.

Last season Manneh registered eight goals and two assists in 28 games across both Allsvenskan and Swedish Cup.
