Turkish Super Lig side Amedspor’s new Nigerian winger, Yira Sor, has exclusively told Footy-Africa that he is gradually settling into life in Turkey and will soon show fans of the club what he is capable of.
The 26-year-old, who has already played twice for the newcomers, is yet to score or register an assist but says it is only a matter of time before the goals and assists come.
“I am gradually settling into life in the city and I like it already, and soon, the goals and assists will come surely,” Sor said. “Moving to a new country and a new league is usually not easy for any player, but I have been made to feel at home and welcome here, both by the fans and the management of the club.”

“It is still early days but I am sure that I will succeed here and make the fans smile. They should expect good things from me. I like to consider myself as a fast and direct player who loves to set others up for goals and also score himself. Hopefully the goals and assists to help my team do well will come. I am confident about that.”
Sor joined Amedspor in a deal worth €3 million, signing a three-year contract with the Turkish club as he begins the next chapter of his career.
The winger arrived at Genk from Slavia Prague in January 2023 and initially established himself as an important player for the Belgian side.
However, his three-and-a-half-year spell there was disrupted by injury setbacks that limited his opportunities at the club.

Sor made his Super Eagles debut in March and will now be hoping his move to Turkey brings him regular playing time and a strong run of form as he looks to build on his growing international standing.
