Footy-Africa understands that Ayodele Thomas would love to remain at RB Leipzig despite reports linking him with a possible loan move away from the Bundesliga club.
Footy-Africa contacted a source close to Nigerian-Dutch winger for an update on his situation following speculation over his future.
Thomas admitted to our source that he is currently unsure what will happen, but made it clear that his preference would be to stay at Leipzig and continue his development at the club.
The 21-year-old joined Leipzig in January from PSV Eindhoven and is now facing an important period as the German club assesses his future.
Reports have suggested that Leipzig could consider sending Thomas out on loan to give him more regular first-team football and further experience.
However, the player himself remains keen to stay and fight for his place within the squad, especially with Yan Diamonde joining Real Madrid.
Thomas joined PSV’s youth setup before developing through the Dutch club’s system and attracting interest from Leipzig.
His preference to remain in Germany means the coming weeks could prove decisive as Leipzig determine whether to keep him in the squad or sanction a temporary move.
