Premier League side Brentford have reached a full agreement with West Ham United for the signature of Senegalese left-back El Hadji Malick Diouf.
The Bees had been very keen on signing the young defender over the summer and are now on the verge of completing that move, with the deal subject to a medical.
Diouf joined the Hammers last summer in a £19 million move from Slavia Prague and was one of their best players over the course of the 2025-26 season, although he could not prevent them from suffering relegation to the Championship.
The 21-year-old will now proceed to complete his medicals and sign his contract at the club in a deal that could reach £40 million.
Once the deal is formalized, Diouf will become Brentford’s fifth arrival of the summer after the likes of Callum Wilson, Mamadou Sangare, Jannick Schuster and Jaidon Anthony.
Transfer fee and contract details
Brentford have reached an agreement with West Ham United and will pay a fee worth £40 million to sign Diouf.
The deal is made up of a £35 million fixed fee with an additional £5 million in transfer related add-ons.
The Bees had several attempts rejected by West Ham United, before both teams struck an agreement on a transfer fee that would see the 21-year-old return to the Premier League.

How much will Diouf earn at Brentford
According to Capology, the Senegalese defender earned around £2.3 million per year during his time at West Ham United.
His earnings at Brentford have not been made public, although it is expected that he earns a pay rise as well as sign a long-term contract at the Gtech Community Stadium as well.

From East London to West London
Diouf joined West Ham United last season and went on to make 34 appearances for the club, providing five assists as well.
The 21-year-old is now set for a new chapter in his young career and will be aiming for another impressive showing at Brentford, as he hopes to help them seal qualification for European football at the end of the campaign.
