Liverpool’s interest in Yankuba Minteh is not fully off, despite Brighton & Hove Albion rejecting two bids for the Gambian winger, Footy-Africa can exclusively confirm.
Liverpool have reportedly discussed Minteh internally again in the past few hours, with the club finding it difficult to identify other suitable options who fit their requirements.
Brighton head coach Andoni Iraola is also understood to have communicated to the recruitment team that he wants a player with Minteh’s profile — someone capable of contributing both defensively and offensively. Other available options are reportedly not matching those requirements.

Liverpool previously saw offers of around £50 million and £60 million rejected by Brighton, who have continued to hold a higher valuation for the 21-year-old.
However, the situation could still change.
Brighton’s asking price may become more negotiable if the Seagulls manage to secure a replacement for Minteh, potentially creating the conditions for Liverpool to reactivate their pursuit before the transfer window closes.
For now, the door remains open. Liverpool’s interest has not been completely abandoned, and Minteh continues to be a player under serious consideration as the club assesses its options.
