Mahmudu Bajo is set to remain at Red Star Belgrade this season after the Serbian champions rejected a latest offer from English Championship side Queens Park Rangers (QPR), Footy-Africa can exclusively report.
Red Star have now taken a firm position on the future of the 22-year-old Gambian midfielder, considering him untouchable despite significant interest from several clubs across Europe.
Bajo has already seen approaches from KV Kortrijk of Belgium and Çaykur Rizespor of Turkey rejected, with QPR now the latest club to have its offer turned down.
The decision comes after Bajo endured a difficult start to the new campaign, initially struggling to make the matchday squad for several matches. However, his situation has changed rapidly in recent weeks.

The Scorpions midfielder has now started two consecutive league matches, completing the full 90 minutes in both, including Sunday’s game. It was his third appearance in all competitions this season.
His recent run of starts appears to have strengthened Red Star’s determination to retain him, with the club now seemingly unwilling to consider a departure regardless of the continued interest.
Bajo joined Red Star from Slovakian side DAC 1904 and remains one of the club’s highly regarded young midfielders.
According to Transfermarkt, the Gambian international currently has a market value of around €2 million.
