Super Eagles forward Akor Adams in an exclusive interview with Footy-Africa has expressed optimism ahead of the game against Guinea-Bissau, a 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Bissau on Tuesday.
The Venezia forward, who spoke exclusively to Footy-Africa on the team’s departure to Guinea-Bissau, said the team is going all out for the win and revealed that the squad’s target is to win every game in the group.
“It was a very tough game against Madagascar, and we had to dig deep to get the win. It’s always important that we start on a good note,” he said.
Asked if he feared the worst when Madagascar scored early, Adams said he never doubted the team.
“I have supreme confidence in this squad. When we conceded, we knew we had to respond and fight back. I had no fears at all about the outcome of the game,” he said. “As it happened, we were able to level the game before half-time and got the winning goal to make our fans happy. I don’t think any game in this qualifying series will be easy — even the Tanzanians, who have already qualified. Every game will be difficult.”

Asked about Nigeria’s next fixture against Guinea-Bissau, Adams said the aim remains the same: win every game.
“We want to win all our games, and the Guinea-Bissau game is no different. We’re going there full of confidence, hoping to get the three points. Like I said before, I trust this team, and together we’re going to fight to bring glory to Nigeria and qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations,” he added.
Akor started the game against Madagascar in Uyo last Friday, and even though he did not score, he was a constant threat to the Madagascar defence.
