Serbian side FK Crvena Zvezda (Red Star Belgrade) announced the signing of Nigerian international centre-back Franklin Tebo Uchenna to a three-year contract, with an option to extend the deal for an additional season, according to the club’s announcement.
25-year-old defender has been a part of Sarpsborg 08’s squad since 2023, taking part in 60 matches in two seasons across all domestic competitions in Norway.

“I am proud and happy to join Crvena Zvezda. It is a great club with rich history. I was well received and everybody is very kind to me. I play with my heart, this has always been my specialty. I have heard a lot about the fans, they are incredible. The atmosphere they create is energizing and it is just fantastic. I enjoy playing in such an environment. Now that I am here, we are going to new victories together,” Tebo Uchena noted.
According to Transfermarkt, Crvena Zvezda paid around €2.70 million for Tebo Uchenna’s permanent move from Norway.
Tebo Uchenna was born on January 15, 2000 in Abuja, Nigeria. He came to Europe from the local club Nasarawa United. Franklin played for Swedish side Häcken, before joining Sarpsborg 08 in 2023.
Earlier in August FK Crvena Zvezda signed talented Gambian midfielder Mahmudu Bajo in a transfer worth €3 million, plus performance-related bonuses, from DAC 1904.
