Germany Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart have laid down a marker ahead of the new 2025/2026 season by fending off serious interest for one of their prized assets, Jamie Leweling.

Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg reports that Premier League side Nottingham Forest tabled an official offer of €20 million plus €5 million in performance-related bonuses for the 24-year-old German-Ghanaian forward.

Stuttgart, however, wasted no time in rejecting the proposal, making it clear that Leweling remains central to their plans. Although, it’s believed that Nottingham Forest is set to return with an improved bid worth €30 million.

The winger has grown into a fan favourite at the Mercedes-Benz Arena thanks to his searing pace, relentless work rate, and direct style of play. His dynamism proved pivotal in Stuttgart’s strong campaign last season, where he consistently stretched defences and injected energy into the attack.

For now, Leweling is considered untouchable, with Stuttgart determined to keep him as they aim to build on their recent momentum. Nottingham Forest are not expected to revive talks this summer, though the situation could resurface in upcoming transfer windows.

Meanwhile, internationally, while he has Ghanaian decent, the 24-year-old has represented Germany at the youth levels, from as far as the U17.
