Former Nigeria international Peter Odemwingie has hailed Victor Boniface’s imminent switch to Italian giants AC Milan in the exclusive interview with Footy-Africa, calling it a “huge opportunity” that will elevate the striker’s career to new heights, with a chance to be a formidable part of their rich history and legacy.

Boniface is already in Milan and is scheduled to complete his medical today ahead of a season-long loan move from Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen, which carries a €30 million option to buy.

Yobo backs Boniface’s Milan move as “a good step forward”

Odemwingie, who starred for Nigeria and shone in the English Premier League with West Bromwich Albion, believes the Rossoneri are the ideal stage for the 24-year-old forward.

“I think this is a huge opportunity for Victor,” Odemwingie told Footy-Africa in an exclusive interview. “He has proved himself in Germany with his goals and work rate, but Milan is a different kind of challenge, a club where the expectations are always high. Playing in Serie A will push him tactically, technically, and mentally, and I believe that will only make him stronger.”

The former Super Eagles winger also highlighted Boniface’s qualities that could make him a hit in Italy.

“Victor is powerful, sharp, and always hungry for goals. What stands out to me is his mentality, he plays without fear and with great determination. Milan’s system will suit his movement, and with the passionate support of the fans, I expect him to grow into one of their key players,” he added.

AC Milan and Bayer to finalize Boniface’s loan move to Italy

Boniface, who scored 11 goals in 27 appearances last season despite injury setbacks, leaves Leverkusen with an impressive tally of 32 goals and 10 assists in 61 games.
