Fulham vs Brentford Match Preview

Fulham grabbed their first league win of the season on Мatchday with a 1-0 win over newly-promoted Leeds United. Summer signing Kevin was the star of the show, despite coming on as a late substitute, to help his side to a first victory at the fourth time of asking. They had conceded a penalty kick in the five straight games before the win, and had not kept a clean sheet in their previous 12 matches.

They began the season with consecutive 1-1 draws against Brighton and Manchester United, before losing in controversial fashion to Chelsea in their third match.

Brentford, meanwhile, scored a last-gasp equalizer to hold Chelsea to a 2-2 draw in their last league outing. Following a 10th-placed finish in the 2024/25 season, they lost forwards Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa to Manchester United and Newcastle United respectively, while manager Thomas Frank left for Tottenham Hotspur in the summer.

The Bees began the season with a 3-1 defeat at Nottingham Forest, which was followed by a 1-0 home win over Bournemouth. In their third league match of the season, they were defeated 2-1 by newly-promoted Sunderland, who netted twice in the final 10 minutes of the tie to seal the win.

Fulham vs Brentford Head-to-Head Record (Last five meetings)

  • 18.05.2025 – Brentford 2-3 Fulham
  • 04.11.2024 – Fulham 2-1 Brentford
  • 04.05.2024 – Brentford 0-0 Fulham
  • 19.08.2023 – Fulham 0-3 Brentford
  • 23.07.2023 – Fulham 3-2 Brentford

Fulham have gained the upper hand in this derby in recent outings, claiming victories in three and losing just one of their last five matches against Brentford. They are also unbeaten in their last three appearances against the Bees in the Premier League.

Recent Form: Fulham

Fulham have improved in recent outings and have only been defeated once in their last eight matches in all competitions. Their only defeat, in five matches in all competitions this season, came in a 2-0 loss to Chelsea before the international break.

However, they have lost three of their last five home league matches, but are unbeaten in the last two.

Recent Form: Brentford

Brentford have been relatively inconsistent and have won only two of their last six matches in all competitions.

The Bees have lost only three of their last 13 away matches in the league, but have lost the last two with both defeats coming this season.

Player to Watch: Samuel Chukwueze

Samuel Chukwueze joined Fulham on transfer deadline day, but was absent for the win against Leeds United, lacking match fitness.

The Nigerian’s speed and dribbling technique allows him to beat defenders with ease, making him a major threat for the Cottagers against the Bees.

Samuel Chukwueze to Fulham: £21.6m fee + £6.24m wages. Transfer breakdown
