As first reported by Footy-Africa, Chipolopolo defender Frankie Musonda has signed a one-year deal with Bahrain SC following his departure from Scottish Championship side Ayr United in May.
Musonda, who was a free agent, reached an agreement with the Bahraini club before the recent international window and has already made his debut. The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) also confirmed to Footy-Africa during the window that Musonda is now officially registered with Bahrain SC.

The 27-year-old joined Ayr United from Raith Rovers in June 2022 and signed a one-year extension last year. However, the 2023/24 season was challenging for the Brentford-born defender, who was limited to just 16 appearances due to recurring injuries.
He started only 11 matches and registered one assist, while also missing several key fixtures — including Zambia’s 5–0 defeat to Russia in an international friendly in April.

Despite his injury setbacks, Musonda leaves Ayr United having made 71 appearances — the most at any club in his career — scoring five goals and providing three assists.
He also played a key role in the club’s strong campaign that narrowly missed out on promotion to the Scottish Premiership last season.
