Zambian striker Lameck Banda is open to leaving US Lecce if a meaningful offer comes in, Footy-Africa has exclusively learned.
Banda endured limited playing time in the recently concluded season due to a lengthy injury that sidelined him for nearly half of the campaign. He featured in only 17 matches across all competitions, starting just six times in Serie A and registering a single assist.
In February last year, Turkish giants Fenerbahรงe expressed interest in signing him. However, at the time, Banda told The Nerve Africa he remained fully committed to the Italian club.
In a turn of events, sources close to the player now confirmed to Footy-Africa that he is willing to leave if the right offer arrives. The decision comes in light of reduced playing time since returning from injury โ a situation that has contributed to his market value dropping to โฌ4.5 million according to Transfermarkt.
Bandaโs journey with Lecce began in August 2022, when he joined from Israeli side Maccabi Petah Tikva for โฌ2 million. His impact at the club saw his market value rise from โฌ200,000 to a peak of โฌ6 million, according to Transfermarkt, before the recent dip.
With 76 appearances, 4 goals, and 8 assists for Lecce, the 23-year-old will now be looking to either revive his form at a new club or work his way back into Lecceโs starting lineup.
